CJSC “Azerbaijani Railways” (BR) joined the project of the container train “Viking”. It is said in the company statement, the “Centre of transport strategies.” Issues related to the realization of this project were discussed by companies participating in the meeting on 12-13 May in Baku.
“In particular, the sides discussed the final work on the operation of the train, the prospects for the development and expansion of the project, the tariff conditions for 2017, tariffs for export-import operations and for additional services and other issues. The meeting also reviewed the treatment of BR and approved its accession to the project the appropriate protocol “was signed, – the report says.
In addition, at the end of the meeting an agreement was reached on the preparation of the action plan to increase cargo container train “Viking” and decided to maintain rates at a competitive level. Also at the meeting it was announced by the need to prepare for the establishment of a coordination structure for proposals for the development of the “Viking” project.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the railways of Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, rail freight Bulgaria and Romania, ADY Express and other operating companies of the project.
